Healthcare Financial Management

The American Data Network (ADN) provides clients with clinical and financial data to help them improve operations.

Clinical Benchmarking

ADN’s Clinical Benchmarking application provides monthly-updated clinical, quality and financial information that can be analyzed to identify areas that are performing well as well as those that can be improved. The data is severity adjusted which means there are accurate comparisons at the overall facility and physician levels.

The knowledge you gain from the benchmarked data in the Clinical module enables you to identify opportunities for improvement at the service line, APR-DRG (DRG) or individual physician levels.  It also enables you to see how efficiently resources are being used because the item-level detail is provided.

The Quality module displays over 160 quality and patient safety indicators, including those endorsed by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) and National Quality Forum (NQF). This module enables you to see how your facility complies with expected best practices and how it performs in comparison to peers.

The Inpatient Physician Profile provides a detailed look at physician’s individual practice patterns and how they affect hospital performance.  The Profile includes severity-adjusted peer and national comparisons on physician cost, length of stay, and outcome measures.  This module also links physicians’ compliance rates to all the measures currently submitted to JCAHO and CMS. The module can also assist in the re-credentialing process.

ADN’s Service Line Report Cards enable clients to determine the true profitability of of the services they provide. The Inpatient Report Card provides financial reports for each service line by payer mix, diagnosis group and physician. The Outpatient Report Card provides similar profitability analyses by presenting cost and reimbursement information by service line, procedure and payer. Benchmarking service line performance against common standards, enables clients to identify opportunities and potential liabilities.

Financial Management

APC IMPACT’s reports, graphs and other analytics enable to efficiently manage outpatient claims, denials and reimbursements.

APC IMPACT consists of two modules:  Planner and Performer.  The Planner module presents hospital Remittance Advices (RA) by APC, HCPCS, and Revenue Codes, and then generates detailed financial and operational reports.  The information disclosed in these reports enables clients to identify services that are less profitable or vulnerable to competitive pressures.  In addition, the benchmarking and reporting features provide valuable insights into your hospital’s pricing strategy.

The Performer module allows you to view adjustments by reason codes, percentage of affected claims and associated dollars. The module enables the Denials Management team to focus their efforts in areas most likely to increase revenue and reimbursement.
