About The Westrend Group
The Westrend Group was formed in 1983 as the Western Office of the Naisbitt Group whose research was the basis for the original best selling book Megatrends. In 1984 the company became independent.

The focus of our work is to help clients adapt to change. This work is in three areas: 1) speeches, presentations, seminars and retreats, 2) consulting assignments, and 3) writing books and articles.

Speeches / Retreats / Seminars -
The speeches, seminars and retreats are usually presentations, group facilitations or a combination of both. Over the years I have spoken at state and national association meetings or organizational working sessions with Boards or executives and managers.

Clients have included groups such as the American Hospital Association (AHA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the National Association of Realtors (NAR) and numerous state associations in these and other fields. My speeches focus on the theme of the conference or working session, issues that the client has said are important to participants.

Consulting Work -
Each year we work with approximately a dozen consulting clients. Our assignments usually focus on strategic planning or issues related to organizational change.

Over the years clients have included a global manufacturing company headquartered in the Upper Midwest, numerous health care systems, financial service companies, real estate associations, and communications companies such as the old US West – now Qwest - and AT&T.

Our work in healthcare has included hospitals, health systems and national organizations such as the Voluntary Hospitals of America (VHA).

Books / Articles -
My first book - Managing the Whirlwind: Patterns and Opportunities in a Changing World – was a discussion of emerging trends and how to manage change and won the ACHE James Hamilton Award. I wrote Trust Matters – New Dimensions in Healthcare Leadership – with Dan Wilford, the former President of the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System and former Chairman of VHA. I am presently finishing a third book – Achieving Success: What it Means to Organize for Good - to be published in 2007.
